Well, as you can tell things will start to look different soon. We had a good time with the vintage clothing business but will be closing it down very soon. Our vintage clothing supplier is moving to another state and will not be able to get the great deals anymore.

Hurricane Katrina, vintage clothes & Demi Moore

Hello Everyone,

If you have not heard about Hurricane Katrina then you must be living in a closet. When watching hurricane katrina and the horrible effect taking place, I had this overwhelming feeling to reach out and help. It was a no brainer that the people in New Orleans and other cities would need alot.

From vintage clothes, leather coats, dress shirts and more had all been put together and boxed up. Whatever clothing we had...mostly vintage, that was still in good condition had to be shipped out. I could not have thought of a better thing to do with some of the extra clothing we had. Everyone here feels hopefully the clothes went to good use.

Also, there is a great event that is taking place this Wednesday(10/5) evening. It is called "Dine for America" and includes about 16,000 restaurants across the country that will be donating some of the dinner proceeds to the American Red Cross for the victims of hurricane Katrina and hurricane Rita. Now thats a title...Vintage Clothing Paris Hilton & Jane Fonda. Why you ask are two totally different people next to each other...well fashion, what else. I guess Paris Hilton will continue to do whatever it takes to remain in the spot light. From her sex tape to lost dog...I mean why is this chick still showing up in front of tv? I only think she is good for showing off fashion and it should remain that way...you never hear about how they are helping people who cant afford these expensive things...nope. From trash to class here's Jane Fonda Her eternal youthfulness, charm and versatile acting ability has allowed her to play a variety of memorable film roles. She has been going strong for a long time and has a great sense of fashion. Her taste for Vintage Clothes clearly shows she has the eye for spotting whats right & whats not. Things the will never go out of style are leather and fur...I know my fav is leather coats...I just cannot own enough coats...full length, waist...I dont care.

Leather Coat, Sin City & Pamela Anderson

Lets start off with the BIG talk of Sin City. First thing I said was, it looks dumb. I couldn't believe how many big stars where in this poor looking film. Maybe because Quentin Tarantino has made a few amazing movies, and I read that he helped jump start some old actors in other movies back into big time again, which would explain why many are willing to risk their future. I like all types of movies & in all different formats, but this one just looks plan horrible. The one part I can pull out of the movie and say is done well, would be the style of clothing used. Their knowledge in using leather fashion with motorcycle jackets, to leather crop jackets, keeps you in the scene of the movie but it ends there...The added effect use of vintage leather fashion help to hold you in the scene.

Now to a better topic, one of which involves Pamela Anderson. Style has everything to do with her. She knows how to make certain fashion look fabulous. Pamela can easily go from wearing a Full Length Fur Coat & drop it down to have showing a Vintage Leather swim suit. Pamela continues to find ways of keeping herself in public eye and making that fashion statement.

Aside from having a lot of NEW items to go thru vintage clothing and get ready for listing them on our online site. Seems fashion has no trouble always being in the spot light. As for the clothing, I have been trying for so long to get the word out on our online business and it has become frustrating. We really do sell stylish gear, and at such a cheap price. You would pay more for this stuff in a NYC second hand shop and you have to travel for it. Where else can you find a Full Length Fur Coat for only $19.99...come ' on.

To get a handle on what might be stylish, some have checkout the show American Idol. Some of the people on this show have a grip on what is good looking, but I can tell you that help is needed for most...I mean who thinks of these outfits. Don't these people know how to where I nice looking Full Length Leather piece...?

staying within the music topic, I watched a bit of the 50 cent party he threw at his new pad...their were a lot of fashion going on in that joint. People had no problem dressing the part for this one.

Stop the press, stop the press...seems a lot of people have their eye on "Lindsay Lohan". Like many, she's not afraid to show her stylish side. With her taste for vintage clothing she has no trouble being noticed. Sure helps that she looks amazing, but a bit of women's leather , never hurt either. Changing subjects in the extreme, speaking of amazing the "global flyer" was a thing to keep tabs on.

You might not think something as the Global Flyer having a effect on style, but it does. Granted it's not major fashion statement, but many will think of the vintage looking leather bomber jacket. I don't feel that style jacket will ever fade out, even Mayor Bloomberg of NYC is often on TV wearing a stylish Bomber Jacket. Fashion will continue to remain a topic of interest for a long time to come.

After I finish each blog, the days following I begin to try and put together what our next blog will be about. I had planned on keeping all blogs about style, fashion, etc but I watched this program on TV about 'Born Rich'. It truly made me feel disgusted watching it and had to vent about this.

The kid who made the movie, a '20-year-old heir to the Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical empire' filmed his friends and self about...duh...being born rich. I will admit that it did interest me, but could not get over the fact of how stuck up and unappreciated they are to have what they do. Maybe 1 or 2 of his friends, acted like a human...but the rest of them could care less about helping the unfortunate. They would rather go out and spend 1200 for shoes, or buying a 2 bottle min at $800 a pop...not once did you get the sense they were responsible adults, or positive members of our society. No mention of helping the poor, no mention of doing great things for the people who have made their families rich. It made me sick to see/hear these brats...their families failed them.

I'm sorry to have went off topic, but I had to get this off my chest.

Academy Awards Vintage Clothing & Jennifer Lopez

Today I Figured we could speak about the Academy Awards and the role it plays on setting a elegant style trend. As we watch different big name stars walk the red carpet, the "fashion guru's" come out and most begin to chop down certain women for things they wear, and I hate it. Granted I understand this is what creates a form of 'hype' to watching, but sometimes their words used to put down a outfit, can often be very harsh.

There was a interesting mix of style on the red carpet as for the type era gown. Some stepped out wearing new designer gowns, while others with a classic style decided to wear a 'you can't go wrong wearing' vintage gown. Our Wedding Gown and Evening Gown online section have some very fabulous, vintage pieces. All of which are selling at Bargain prices.

One of the 'who's who' mentioned as being something to speak about is Hilary Swank , she looks like such a humbled person. Hilary Swank has worked in the business for awhile now and her track record is one of good roles, heart felt roles. Often you see these actresses that are so, 'look at me, look at me' and this is not what you get here. Her complete package as a person is what will continue to bring her much success, and rightfully so.

Quick mention of a fashion show I watched on TV, would be on Jennifer Lopez. Wow, what a show...It clearly shows how fur clothing will be making a fashion statement. Welcome everyone, how are things on your side of the town? We hope all is well.

A few customers of Front Street Trading have asked us about new items coming in, and if we will be listing any stylish vintage furs or etc. The truth of the matter is yes, yes, and yes. We spoke with our New York City dealer about picking some vintage leathers and fur, for this weekend.

We noticed is some emails from our customers, the names of stylish celebrities such as, Björk , christina aguilera and mention of what fashionable fur or leather piece they might have worn. As we all know, its celebrities that usually help bring out certain styles or different material to wear.

Look at Britney Spears for example, on her site she is wearing a Fabulous white Fox stole. She looks absolutely amazing in this pic. Style like this will never fade out, another great style is vintage clothing. The designers of that time had a great eye for turning a piece of material into a fashion statement.

You cannot go wrong with buying vintage clothing, they add a sense of character, great looks, and a very unique ownership. When wearing a piece of vintage , you know that its the only one around and YOU own it.

Trying to keep a professional layout with every posting, but am finding it very hard. Time being the main reason, and not having enough of it. Between searching thru Yahoo for information on making a GREAT auction. Then double checking our currently running auctions on eBay answering emails from customers...Etc etc.

So if I wait until I have time to write a well put together, business outlined, professional piece...it will only be posted once a month. eBay has found a way to work its self into so many movie "one liners", newspaper articles, to hearing people talk about the high fees while standing on line in the store. A lot of people are selling/buying and you have to be there, if for nothing else to atleast put your site in front of many viewers.

Paris hilton is one that would be said to have style and fashion. I'm not a big fan, or to put another way, a fan at all...but I have noticed she does have a sense for style. From wearing Fur , to a fabulous Leather piece , she can put on about anything and make it look HOT.

Please keep the emails back with such subject like "why did you post this" or "stop posting". I know this was not much of a very useful piece, but cut me some slack, I'm trying to write and writing anything is better then not writing at all....well that's what my English professor said.

Michael Jackson & Fashion Statement

OK..ok...I know I wrote that posting will be done, but had a load of vintage clothing come in for sorting and it had to get done ASAP.

So as the title reads "Michael Jackson" and your wondering why. The reason being because (1) he just so happens to be in the news ( http://www.nydailynews.com/ ) and (2) Like it or not, he has created a lot of fashion.

Michael Jackson and his fashion statements at times might have been kinda weird or strange at times but for the most part, the style looks good. One piece of clothing that comes to mind right away, is the leather jacket with all the zippers and all. Oh my, talk about fashion.

Front Street Trading's, business of selling stylish clothing is extremely interesting. When new items of vintage clothing arrive and sorting must be done, its a trip down memory lane. Each item brings you to a certain time or movie.

Our leather bomber jackets bring all types of "hey remember that movie with" or when sorting the fur coats, "wasn't she wearing a full length, during". Its a lot of fun, cause every item is always different.

Just when you thought it could not get any better then this, comes the part of selling the fabulous vintage clothing to the customer. Once they receive the item, the feedback is always about "how amazing" or "looks better then the PIC". To read how thrilled they are and know they are showing it off, brings a self satisfaction.

Well folk, the official Front Street Trading's 1st post is finally here. I've read a lot of information online on how blogging has become a method of being heard (read) faster then trying to submit your website to search engines.

So like most things done for the first time, this post will not look pleasing. Hope fully as time goes on with more posting, so will come a better content based blog.

Our main goal for starting this blog...to put it simple, exposure. It all started with a search on google. I found a article explaining how to improve your website ranking. It mentioned about how Big fortune 500 companies are using this method to spread company word.

About: Front Street Trading started from a very small 2 person business ( Hobby to spend Time) into a 10 people work force. Yes, I know 10 people are not much, but when you go from having your business only in your dreams, to being responsible for salary of 10 people, it becomes a real shocker at times.

Our number one rule above all others, has become "Customer Is ALWAYS Right". When we first started selling online in 1998, my father made it a point to always have fun with the business and to treat the customer like they are the only one who has our complete attention. He didn't just say the "Customer is always right", like most companies say or have posted up on the policy wall.

He clearly understood the reasoning behind having customer's who are happy, or amazed by your customer service, compared to a upset/angry one. He helped me to realize the value of keeping a customer satisfied by all means. You never know how much of a value that customer could have become, or how many friends and family they might have mentioned your business to. It is clearly not worth turning away a angry customer.

The business started by selling vintage clothing from stylish leather jackets, leather coats, faux fur coats, fur coats, leather bomber jackets, suede skirts, to also wedding gowns. We realized it was possible to offer below bargain prices on these fabulous item's all on eBay and online. Again we are not just saying this, to say it but where else can you buy a stylish piece of outerwear for $9.99.
